Panthers eliminate Kings in Cup semifinal
ESTEVAN, Sask. — Jacob Partridge scored a short-handed goal in the first period and Lucas Rowe added a third-period marker to lead the Pickering Panthers to a 2-0 win over the MJHL’s Dauphin Kings in semifinal action at the Centennial Cup national junior A hockey championship at Affinity Place Saturday.
The Ontario Junior Hockey League champs will take on the unbeaten Brooks Bandits in Sunday’s gold-medal game.
The Bandits, winners of the Alberta Junior Hockey League, clobbered Collège Français de Longueuil 11-2 in Saturday’s other semifinal.
